Creating Clean Search Boxes in Photoshop
Creating cool search boxes isn’t all that hard when you use photoshop. In this step by step tutorial I’ll teach you how to create a cool looking search box in photoshop.
The very first thing you’re going to do is create a new photoshop document with the dimensions of 300 by 100.

Then select the rounded rectangle tool to create the base of your search box. Click and drag until it takes up about the whole canvas but with some extra space on the outside.

Then go into the blending options of the layer with the box on it. Then select gradient overlay and select or create a gradient that you like.

Now you should have something that looks similar to this(minus the colors of course):

Next control+click the rectangle layer and go to select-modify-contract and put in 7 pixels.


Now you should have this:

Make sure that the foreground color is set to white. After that select the gradient tool and choose the “foreground to transparent” gradient.

With that gradient selected click a little bit above the canvas and drag down to the middle of the stage.

After doing all the steps you should end up with something like this:
